Meet the President

Message from BBSA President
Bill Woistman

Dear Family and Friends of BBSA,
Thank you so much for choosing our family here at Bauerstown! I would like to welcome back all returning members, new members and friends of BBSA. We are looking forward to an exciting season and we are looking forward to more exciting times in the future. I hope everyone is getting ready to make some new memories this year at BBSA.

As I enter my third year as President, I realize there is still much to learn about running this great organization. I would like to thank everyone for the support and knowledge shared with me through this transition. The Board and I are looking forward to leading BBSA into the future. One thing I can say about this Board, is that we have all taken the commitment on because we care so much about the athletes of BBSA. This is also true of our managers, coaches, and volunteers. It truly is a full time job at times, but when I see the kids hitting the ball, running the bases, or making a great play in the field, it is all worth it! I hope to take the knowledge I gained over the last two years to help continue to improve Bauerstown.

As far as my background, I have coached kids, in a variety of sports for over 25 years. While it is great to win trophies and championships, sports are so much more than that in life. Sports help build character, team work, and leadership skills. Sports also boosts self esteem, teaches about commitment, setting goals and working to achieve those goals! Sports however, can only do all of these things stated, through parents and coaches supporting the kids of BBSA. If we all work together, we will help prepare these BBSA athletes for a bright future - not just in sports, but in life.

As a dad, I could not be prouder of my two children. Whether my kids have a big hit or strike out looking, make a big play in the field or an error that costs their team the game, I am just glad that God blessed me with two wonderful children that love the games of baseball and softball. I think about the ups and the downs we go through in a game, and all the teachable moments that occur, which will help my children be better human beings. As a parent, I always want to put that teachable moment above the game. I always want to remember that they grow up quickly and to cherish every moment I have with them. I have a lot of great memories at the ball field with my children and I look forward to the ones to come. I never want to lose sight of the fact that this game has a lot to offer my children. One of the most import things this game has to offer is... that it's FUN! As adults, we cannot lose sight of this and passing on the love of the game and the joy it brings is a top priority.

As we start our 65th season of Bauerstown Baseball and Softball, I would like to thank the Board, commissioners, managers, coaches, and volunteers who help make this Association truly GREAT. Without their support, we would not be the organization we are today. Thank you for everything you do. I would also like to challenge all the returning members, new members, and friends of Bauerstown Baseball and Softball to spend some more time at the complex and volunteer to help make this complex the envy of the area. BBSA is a self-sufficient organization. We maintain our fields, the concession stand, and the entire complex through our volunteers. We have so much we would like to improve at our complex, but we need volunteers to accomplish those goals. Please consider volunteering to help us continue to improve the BBSA organization.

Thank you,

Bill Woistman
BBSA President
